CBS' "Stone Cold," a telefilm starring Tom Selleck, has signed two veteran actresses to co-star. The Robert Parker adaptation will feature Mimi Rogers and Viola Davis.

Selleck is set to play Jesse Stone, your basic hard-drinking, small-town police chief with personal demons to battle before he can track down a killer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogers will play Rita, a lawyer who has ties to Jesse, but is also representing an accused rapist in the town. Davis will play Molly Crane, an inexperienced police officer.

Best known for features including "The Rapture" and "The Door in the Floor," Rogers has produced a number of projects that have aired on Showtime, including "Harlan County War," "My Horrible Year!" and "Charms for the Easy Life," appearing in the last two. Her series credits include the classic short-lived soap "Paper Dolls" and the not-so-classic "The Geena Davis Show."

Davis, a Tony winner for the August Wilson play "King Hedley II," co-starred in CBS' quickly cancelled legal drama "Century City." She has been seen in the series "City of Angels" and in such features as "Solaris," "Far from Heaven" and "Antwone Fisher."

"Stone Cold" is executive produced by Selleck and Michael Brandman.
